Lake
Central Centralettes
Parents Association Board
Q&A with Glenn
Longfield :
1. Daughter's
name?
- Candace Bridegroom, a Freshman class member of the Junior
Varsity Centralettes.
2. What
I like most about the dance team?
- The professional image and level of confidence that is projected
by both teams--Junior Varsity and Varsity. They are polished!
3. What
motivated me to become a member of the board?
- I have only been a parent for two years now, but I truly
believe in being very involved in my kid's lives--and that
includes giving them a lot of support in extracurricular activities.
I've been involved with Schererville Baseball (Kevin - 11
yr. old) for the past two years--including coaching in 2002
& 2003, and the role of Treasurer in 2003. Now, with the
Centralettes, I have a great opportunity to support Candace
and contribute to a great organization.
4. What
advice would I give to new Centralette parents?
Please get involved! Attend the parent meetings and volunteer
for one of the committees. The girls do their part by working
very hard and improving throughout the year. However, it is
the parents that provide the financial support and organizational
support that is necessary for the continued success of the
Centralettes.
5. Favorite
inspirational quote, poem or song?
- "We are much stronger together than we are alone."
- Walter Payton
6. Most
memorable moment as a dance team parent?
- Unfortunately, I haven't been to a dance competition yet
this year--as I mentioned above, my daughter is a Freshman.
However, while attending competitions during the last two
years for Candace (Grimmer), I've been able to watch LC perform.
I was always amazed with the level of enthusiasm of the Centralette
supporters and the level of professionalism that was projected
by the teams.
